BASF will showcase a range of healthy ingredients in a variety of food and beverage products as part of its new global Newtrition™ brand, which is dedicated to the human nutrition market, at the IFT 2013 Expo in Chicago.

The company will offer attendees food and beverage products that demonstrate both health and good taste including bread with BASF's omega-3 powder for nutritious sandwiches, bar bites with plant sterols for heart-healthy snacking, energy drinks with vitamins B, E and caffeine, as well as body shaping beverages-on-the-go with Tonalin® CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) in a convenient pouch. To demonstrate the performance side of its ingredient portfolio, BASF will feature iced tea filtered with Divergan® for stability and clarity, cupcakes with Spongolit® aerating emulsifiers for excellent cake texture and volume, along with Lamequick® whipping concentrates for smooth, appealing icing.

BASF also will hold a sustainability symposium, "Perfecting the Path to More Sustainable Consumer Goods," at the IFT Expo on July15 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The company will also sponsor the IFT Scientific Program Tracks "Food Health & Nutrition" and "Food Safety & Defense" that will highlight topics of critical importance for today's food and beverage markets.
