The cold storage specialist is working through a joint venture with HN Gorin and Campanelli, Boston, Massachusetts, to convert what was an advanced warehouse when first built in 1986 to today's higher standards. Upon completion, the Avon facility will be the companys fifth cold storage facility in Massachusetts and the thirty-first worldwide. 

PFS is investing in modernization upgrades to the refrigeration system, racking equipment, roofing, adding six high-speed Rytec doors to the Freezer and is installing a hi-efficiency white reflective roof membrane at this 150,000 sq. ft. facility. The existing hydraulic dock plates for the 24 exterior dock doors will be replaced with state-of-the-art airbag dock levelers.

In addition, the environmental-friendly facility will also be retrofitted with LED lighting, a new back-up generator, CCTV Security System, Wi-Fi warehouse management systems. The lot will be resurfaced and the landscaping upgraded enhanced to enhance the aesthetics of the facility. PFS Avon will be accepting product on September 10th, 2012 with an Open House Celebration to follow in October.
