Romer Labs, a provider of diagnostic solutions for the agricultural, food and feed industries, has expanded its food allergen analytical service capabilities with the acquisition of the UK’s Food Allergen Centre (FAC).

Established in 2008, FAC provides allergen analytic services through tailored solutions to customers in the food and drink industry and contract laboratories.

Based in Wells, Somerset, it has developed a broad portfolio of food allergen services – including ELISA and enzymatic methods for a variety of analytes such as lactose, gluten, egg, milk proteins and soya.

FAC will now be operated as a subsidiary of Romer Labs UK – a unit of the ERBER Group – under the name Romer Labs FAC.

“With the acquisition of FAC, we are underscoring our commitment to excellence in food allergen testing in the UK,” said Romer Labs MD Eva Wanzenböck.
