New Zealand-based multinational dairy co-operative Fonterra has selected Tetra Pak's processing and…New Zealand-based multinational dairy co-operative Fonterra has selected Tetra Pak's processing and packaging equipment for its NZ$100m ($77.7m) UHT greenfield plant in Waitoa.
The new facility, which will feature five UHT lines, will produce a range of products including UHT white milk and UHT cream for the foodservice sector, doubling Fonterra's UHT production capacity.
The plant is expected to commence production of its first milk by the mid 2014, with products exported across the region.
Fonterra New Zealand Milk Products managing director Gary Romano said: "A long-standing partner of Fonterra, Tetra Pak offers both equipment and service that ensures we get our products to consumers safely and efficiently."
