The export of frozen raspberries has grown stably in the EU in the last 5 years, reports the German website Fruchtportal.de, "Poland, the biggest exporter in the EU, has exported 31% less fresh raspberries in the last 5 years. In this same period, the export of Serbian fresh raspberries decreased by 77% and that of Spanish fresh raspberries by 10%, says Tetiana Getman of Fruit-Inform. "At the same time the export of frozen raspberries increased by 30% in Poland, by 7% in Serbia and even by 31% in Spain. However, Spain remains a relatively small exporter of frozen raspberries."

Frozen raspberries are increasingly popular as raspberries are one of the most perishable types of berries. This makes supplying fresh raspberries over large distances difficult, as raspberries quickly lose their quality during transport.
