The Swiss retailer Coop expands in the gastronomic sector. Coop namely intends to buy the Marché restaurants from Mövenpick. Up to now no price has been mentioned.

Marché Restaurants Schweiz AG consists of 25 gastronomic companies established along motor ways and at the airport of Zürich. As the Coop group already controls about 200 restaurants the take-over will be subject to the agreement of the Swiss competition commission.

Marché reached a turnover of almost 120 million Swiss Francs (Euro 97,292,040) in Switzerland in 2012. Coop wants to continue the Marché restaurants under the same name and to take on all employees.
