The company had been in talks with Hauraki District Council since July 2013, when it expressed interest in establishing a footprint in New Zealand.
Expected to become operational in April next year, the facility will produce 10 tons of frozen cream and five to 10 tons of ice cream every day, stuff.co.nz reported.
The products manufactured at the facility will use locally sourced milk and will be distributed to Chinese domestic market.
Hauraki District Mayor John Tregidga said: "Hauraki has a long relationship with China since signing a sister city agreement with Jiading province in 2000. Since that signing I have been to China eight times and the relationship is now very strong."
The company plans to employ close to 50 people at the ice cream plant.
Allied Faxi general manager Arthur Yan said: "It is a good opportunity for Hauraki people too as we are going to employ between 30 and 50 people."
