Xiamen Customs recently repXiamen Customsorted Xiamen’s imported fruits from Taiwan totalled 79.793 million yuan in worth during the first five months this year, a year on year increase of 69.2%. The main imported fruits were pineapples, sweetsops and wax apples.

As the Chinese mainland’s biggest port for fruits imported from Taiwan and the most important distribution centre for Taiwan fruits in Mainland China, Xiamen has opened a “green channel” for imported fruits from Taiwan so that they will arrive in Xiamen when they are still relatively fresh. It takes about two days for Taiwan fruits to arrive in Xiamen after being picked from Taiwan’s orchards.

Xiamen has achieved many top achievements in cross-strait trade, such as being the first city to offer incentives for importing fruits, rice and aquatic products from Taiwan and maintaining itself as the largest Taiwan fruits importer on mainland China for six consecutive years.
