Tajikistan aims to increase the export of agricultural products, with a particular focus on fruits and vegetables. In 2022, the exports amounted to $54 million, while the population's demand for vegetables and melons is around 1.6 million tons, and for fruits and berries, it is 1.2 million tons per year.

There are plans to increase the revenue from onion exports from $6 million to $9 million by emphasizing an increase in yield per hectare. There are also prospects for increasing income from carrot exports, especially through early spring harvests.

The export of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) in 2022 reached about 1,000 tons, generating $1.5 million. However, the overall production volume does not exceed 10,000 tons. Economists believe that the profit from nuts significantly surpasses that from growing melons and grains.

Although lemons bring in export revenue of $450-500 thousand, farmers face low prices and diminishing interest in cultivation.

Grapes generate an annual revenue of over $10 million, and the government actively promotes viticulture through a special program.

Apricots hold a significant position among Tajikistan's fruits, yielding annual revenue ranging from $20 to $25 million.

The government plans to increase the production volume of fresh fruits to 516,000 tons and exports to 30,000 tons in the next three years, a move seen as having considerable potential by experts.
