"China is a large country with numerous territories where soil conditions and weather conditions vary. The differences between carrot production areas are great. The main carrot production areas in China are located in Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Fujian, Hubei, and Sichuan. The spring carrots from Shandong enter the market every year between May and July, while the carrots from Hubei and Inner Mongolia enter the market between August and October, and the autumn carrots from Shandong enter between November and December." This is according to Sasa Jiang of Qingdao Harvest Foodstuffs Co., Ltd.

"This year, the overall production volume of carrots in China decreased by around 20%. This development was caused by various factors, but the two main reasons are as follows: first, the market price of carrots has been relatively low in the last two years. Farmers reduced the surface area devoted to carrot plantation or supplemented plantation with other crops. Second, the frequent occurrence of extreme weather conditions like cold currents and typhoons harmed the young carrots."

"The overall production volume decreased, which immediately raised the retail price. The average price of carrots is around 3,500 yuan [505 USD] per ton this year. That is a price increase of around 40% in comparison with the same period last year. The overall market conditions are not that bad."

"The carrots in our company come from a farm in Dianbu Village, Laixi City, Shandong. Our company owns 67 hectares of carrot farm, and further cooperates with other farms in the area. The overall surface area devoted to carrot plantation in Dianbu Village is around 3,333 hectares. Around 90% of our carrots are exported to Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Canada, all under the excellent national brand 'Dianbu Carrots'. The remaining 10% is sold through traditional marketing channels in supermarkets throughout China in such first and second tier cities as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou."

"The market share of Chinese carrots in overseas markets grows every year because of abundant supply and excellent product quality. In the future, we will continue to focus on the overseas market and hope to establish further cooperation with excellent distributors. We hope to swiftly deliver our carrots to the tables of more overseas consumers."
