A Fiji ginger producer has been able to break into the lucrative Australian market with the aid of Pacific Trade Invest (PTI).

PTI helped the Navua based Kaiming Agro Processing break into the export market by assisting with the purchase of a date encoding machine.

The company's crystallised ginger is now for sale in the Coles and Aldi supermarket chains in Australia.

Moana Mato, Pacific Trade Invest Australia's manager of export services, told Bruce Hill that adding value to products and exporting them is the way forward for Pacific food producers.
