According to Hainan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Qinglan Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, one sub-bureau of the Hainan Bureau, exported 13 batches, 196, 200 Grouper Fry, worth 294, 300 US Dollars in only one month, July. After passing relavant inspection and quarantine, the fry was successfully exported to Singapore, and it’s also the first batch of grouper fry being exported overseas this year.

What’s more, the achievement was made under weak foreign demand, shrunk foreign trade export and risky international financial environment. Both the government’s supports and enterprise’s efforts contributed to the achievement.

The grouper hatchery is located at the northeast Hainan province, which belongs to tropical monsoon island climate. The region boasts flat terrain and long light exposure, whose annual sunshine amount reaches nearly 2, 000 hours. It’s frost free all year round and there are 10 months a year appropriate for grouper growing. Wenchang, a coastal city in Hainan under the jurisdiction of Qinglan Bureau, has just initiated grouper farming in recent years and there are still limits in farming knowledge, farming skills and disease prevention and curing.

In June 2015, Hainan Neptune Aquaculture Technology Co., Ltd secured grouper export qualification. In the beginning of 2016, it successfully achieved grouper fry export registration. The grouper fry enjoys high market value, whose nursery and hatchery lie in upper-stream of grouper industry. The feeding cycle is also short and its added value is far higher than that of marketable fish, full of market potential.

As the international grouper market demand continues to grow year by year, Qinglan Bureau also take relevant measures to support the industrial development of grouper. It carries out supervision at different grouper farming stags, including farming, choosing parent fish, feeding, changing water and so on. And the Bureau also encourages enterprise self-supervision to improve quality management and quality control ability. With the healthy industrial development, it’s high likely the grouper will contribute a lot to local economic development.
