Jalisco producers increased their chances of exporting berries, Persian lime, chia and its derivatives, agave products, processed prickly pear, powdered honey, and packages of renewable energy to Canada after having participated in the Centrallia Trade Show in Winnipeg, in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

The Seder said the trade mission allowed them to strengthen the links that Jalisco has with several Canadian provinces.

They said Canadian companies were seeking to eliminate intermediaries, especially from the US, as some agroindustrial products were not arriving in the best conditions.

The marketing director of Seder, Samir Portillo Mendoza, said the companies that had been invited to participate in the trade show were those that had an exportable supply.

"This trip has made it clear that the Canadians are interested in dealing directly with suppliers to get rid of a network of intermediaries that demerits the products quality," he said.

He also stated that Mexico could send more agroindustrial products to Canada soon.
