Vacuum-packed cuts of beef and lamb from L&M Meats Northern Ireland have been withdrawn because the products were handled and packaged in an unapproved establishment. The Agency has issued a Food Alert For Action to district councils in Northern Ireland.

Enforcement officers are currently investigating supplies to establishments in the Republic of Ireland. However, it is possible that there may have been distribution to wholesalers and butchers in Northern Ireland. This is being investigated by enforcement officers.

Action to be taken by district councils

If the product is found during a routine inspection by a district council enforcement officer, the officer should ensure that the product is withdrawn from sale and destroyed, and that FSA in Northern Ireland is immediately informed.

More information about action to be taken by enforcement officers can be found at the link below.
