Kraft Foods, a US-based food conglomerate, has introduced new PHILADELPHIA 2X Protein Cream Cheese Spread under its Philadelphia brand.

The PHILADELPHIA 2X Protein Cream Cheese Spread is claimed to offer twice as much protein as regular cream cheese spread and it has 70% less fat and calories over peanut butter.

It offers consumers with an alternate way to incorporate protein into their diets, especially for those who have other dietary restrictions or preferences, the company said.

Kraft Foods consumer research director Kathy Burns said, "We created this new item to help consumers satisfy their desire for a diet with protein, but in a product that they enjoy- cream cheese spread."

Available in regular and honey flavors, the PHILADELPHIA 2X Protein is ideal for topping whole wheat bagels, toast, multi-grain crackers or pretzels in a breakfast or snack. It has a suggested retail price of $3.29 for a 7oz tub.
