Bell Flavors & Fragrances has announced that their facility in Guadalajara, Mexico has obtained the prestigious SQF Level 3 Certification. The facility earned an “Excellent” rating by meeting a newly revised standard with additional requirements and a more stringent scoring system.

“Bell Flavors & Fragrances has initiated a global approach for all Bell operations to achieve the highest standards for quality and safety. These third party audited certifications and documents endorses our commitment to achieving this goal,” stated James Heinz, President and CEO.

Bell Mexico is currently the first and only flavor company in Mexico to earn this certification. It requires a rigorous third party audit process that includes an extensive review of policies, procedures, and systems. The results confirmed that employees were well trained, retained information and communicated well during employee interviews, which was a significant component of the audit. SQF Level 3 Certification provides customers with the assurance that their products are manufactured by a consistently safe and high quality source.

“With Bell Mexico's successful completion of the SQF Level 3 certification, Bell now has five manufacturing plants that have food safety certificates recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Bell’s plants located in Guadalajara, Mexico; Northbrook, IL and Brossard, Canada are certified SQF Level 3. Bell’s plants in Shanghai, China and Leipzig, Germany are certified FSSC 22000,” said Thomas Fortman, VP of Manufacturing.
