Active Honey has signed a deal with merchandising and licensing agent Space Enterprises in order to launch ‘The Hive’ branded honey in the UK.

The Hive is a honey bee based animated series for pre-schoolers. With the licensing agreement, Active Honey is expected to take advantage of the brand's popularity among kids. The new product - The Hive Rainforest Honey - will be launched in January 2013.

Active Honey noted that Rainforest Honey is pure, active honey from Chile, which is entirely natural and has clinically proven health and wellbeing benefits.

Active Honey sales director Nick Mead said that the Rainforest Honey can be consumed by adults for its nutritional benefits.

"The link with The Hive offers an ideal opportunity for children to also get a 'daily dose' of the unique Active Rainforest Honey from Chile and enjoy the same great taste too," Mead added.

Space Enterprises licensing director Mark Hurry said that honey is a perfect license for The Hive and this deal adds to a host of activity surrounding the brand.

Active Honey, which is wholly owned by Lifeplan Products, sells a range of bee products from Chile. Its products are available in leading supermarkets and specialist retailers in the UK.
