Speciality chemicals distributor Azelis has announced that it has recently opened a new regional office in Guangzhou, China, to complement its existing headquarters facility in Shanghai. A further office is planned for Beijing at the beginning of July, so that, the company said, it can maintain its closeness to customers.

Two new in-house laboratories (one for food and one for personal care) have also been commissioned, and Azelis says that it plans further recruitment during 2013 to meet demand, adding to the 30 people it currently employs in sourcing, technical and commercial positions.

Azelis notes that it established a sourcing base in China decades ago, over which time it has expanded rapidly. The company already represents leading European principals in China, and now plans to further enhance its portfolio to support the Chinese market in capturing global market trends, improving product safety and quality and delivering superior end product performance.
