pepper A Chicago high school student pulled a prank on fellow students and staff when he spiked a vat of marinara sauce with hot sauce. According to ABC news, the prank went horribly awry, and three people were sent to the hospital because of it. The prankster in question poured “Da Bomb” brand hot sauce into the marinara. Certain versions of that sauce have up to 1,500,000 Scoville units, which is close to that of official police pepper spray. Now the student is being charged with five counts of misdemeanor battery. While none of those who ate or inhaled fumes from the sauce were seriously injured, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and skin rashes were all reported.

The student who added the hot sauce to the marinara will be charged as a juvenile on five counts of misdemeanor battery.
