International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF), a leading global creator of flavors and fragrances for consumer products, announced an organization change within the Fragrance Business Unit, effective April 1, 2014. The change includes a realignment of responsibilities under Nicolas Mirzayantz, Fragrances Group President.

The new structure is a realignment of the creative and commercial teams into the new Consumer Fragrances and Fine Fragrances category organization. Consumer Fragrances will include Fabric Care, Home Care, Personal Wash, Hair Care and Toiletries. Fine Fragrances will be a stand-alone category. IFF’s management team has worked closely together to identify and prepare its future category leadership, while defining an orderly transition process resulting in the following changes:

• Jean-Francois Dupont, VP, Global Functional Fragrances, will transition his current responsibilities to Christophe de Villeplee and assume a part-time role until his retirement in the second quarter of 2015
• Christophe de Villeplee, VP, Global Fine Fragrances & Beauty Care, is promoted to the newly created role of VP, Global Consumer Fragrances
• Bertrand Lemont, VP, Creative Director Category Functional Fragrances, is promoted to the newly created role of VP, Global Fine Fragrances

Christophe and Bertrand will have responsibility for strategy, business development and creative execution within their respective categories.

“We have a pool of talented and seasoned executives at IFF and are confident that Christophe and Bertrand are well positioned to build on the foundation Jean-Francois and Christophe created as they lead our new categories into the future,” said Nicolas Mirzayantz. “In a constantly changing market, we are committed to supporting our customers and their brands around the world. The creation of our new Consumer Fragrances category and a separate Fine Fragrances category will enable us to be more strategic and effective in meeting those changing needs as we look for better ways to serve our customers, increase their speed to market and accelerate the leverage of our consumer insights and innovation platforms.”
