Saudi Arabian polypropylene (PP) producer NATPET has launched a thermoforming grade H03TF based on Milliken’s nucleating innovation Hyperform HPN-600ei, which is designed to increase converter productivity and improve product performance.

The company noted that H03TF blends high clarity and aesthetics with superior dimensional stability for thermoformed products, both in shallow and deep drawn parts.

The Hyperform HPN-600ei generates unique isotropic shrinkage control, visual appearance and stiffness/impact balance, allowing converters to achieve an extra steady production process and more consistent finished articles covering a variety of thicknesses.

In addition, the relatively high crystallization temperature with isotropic balance achieved due to Hyperform HPN-600ei means that converters can realize shorter cycle time compared to conventional nucleated PP without comprising on quality, the company said.

NATPET Product Application assistant manager Neaz Ahmed said that H03TF, due to its enhanced dimensional stability, is giving packaging customers an opportunity to lower their cycle times and achieve better products with less wastage, for all-round productivity improvements.

"It is receiving positive feedback from our customers around the world in Europe, China and Africa, who welcome the good processability and performance of the grade for their thermoformed applications," Ahmed added.

Other advantages offered by the product include good visual appearance and regrind stability, good stacking performance, perfect rim rolling for applications, good organoleptics with no contamination risk, and compatibility with food applications.
