In diamond jubilee year, HNGIL starts container glass furnace in Nasik

Present to grace the occasion were C K Somany, chairman, HNGIL; Mukul Somany, managing director and vice-chairman, HNGIL, and Sanjay Somany, managing director and vice-chairman, HNGIL, along with Pratip Choudhury, chairman, State Bank of India. 

The end-fired container glass furnaces have a capacity of 650 TPD. A total of six production lines have been installed with state-of-the-art technology to produce glass. Some of the most reputed suppliers of machinery and technology for the glass industry like HORN Glass, SORG GmbH, Zippe, Emhart ,Mysac, Sipac and many others have been selected for supply of equipment and technology for this furnace. The new furnace is equipped to produce products of international standards thus setting a benchmark for global container glass manufacturers.

Speaking on the occasion, C K Somany, chairman, HNGIL, said, "I am very happy to come up with our new state-of-the-art facility to serve our customers more effectively and efficiently."

Mukul Somany, vice-chairman and managing director, HNGIL, said, "We are delighted to celebrate our success with you. We are here to set the benchmark for the industry by supplying products of international standards."

Sanjay Somany, vice-chairman and managing director, HNGIL, added, "The company has increased assets under management substantially in the past two years, and we have rapidly scaled our productions within a short span of time."

About HNGIL: 

HNGIL is the largest container glass manufacturers in India with gross annual turnover of more than Rs 2,000 crore (fiscal year 2011-12). HNGIL was founded by C K Somany in 1946. The company started its first commercial run in 1952 with the inauguration of India's first fully-automated glass container manufacturing plant at Rishra, near Kolkata. Headquartered in Kolkata, today HNGIL's manufacturing facilities are located at Rishra, Bahadurgarh, Rishikesh, Puducherry, Nashik and Neemrana, and a global presence in Gardelegen in Germany. The company has been successfully exporting its products to over 29 countries across the globe. The company's seventh Greenfield project equipped with world's largest batch house is coming up in Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh shortly.
