XL Foods, the Canadian beef producer which recalled beef products across Canada and the US, has noted that it has addressed all the safety issues and concerns outlined by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

In a statement, the company said that primary aspects that have been addressed include enhanced record keeping, better maintenance procedures, detailed documentation and improved sampling technologies.

"These efforts, in addition to the intensified and enhanced food safety protocols, will improve the process of our contamination prevention program," the company added.

CFIA said that inspectors will check the plant ensure that the correction plant has been implemented. However, it noted that there is no date or indication if the plant will be operational.

E.coli was detected at XL Foods' plant in Alberta in 4 September, following which, the company issued a massive recall. The company's license was revoked in September due to deficiencies in operations.

The CFIA conducted a detailed review of the plant and issued Corrective Action Requests (CARs). It asked XL Foods to address issues such as lack of detailed documentation, insufficient record keeping, and inconsistent sampling.
