According to Freshlink Foods, it may restructure the organisation and relocate to another site in England, which could force it to close the factory, reported News.stv.tv.

A Freshlink spokesman said the plant has initiated a minimum 90-day consultation period with its workforce regarding the possibility of a restructuring of its operations, which may impact on the future of the site, resulting in the potential relocation of its business.

"This option is one of several currently under consideration, and a final decision is not expected for a number of months," the spokesman added.

Freshlink is a division of ABP food group, a leading food processor in Europe.
