Live Better Brands acquires sprouted foods maker BioEssential Botanicals

North American maker of Way Better Snacks Live Better Brands has acquired complete equity interest of BioEssential Botanicals, a premium sprouted foods company, for an undisclosed amount.

Following the acquisition, BioEssential Botanicals will now be renamed as Live Better Sprouting Innovation.

Based in Ontario, BioEssential Botanicals is owned and operated by Dennis Barker and Gail Barker.

Live Better Brands CEO and founder Jim Breen said, "Partnering with BioEssentials has been a key part of Way Better Snacks success, and I'm now excited to grow the sprouted foods category to new heights through Live Better Sprouting Innovation."

Launched in the fall of 2011, Minnesota-based Live Better Brands produces all-natural snacks under the Way Better Snacks brand. Its initial product lines include Simply Sprouted Tortilla Chips and Simply Sprouted Pita-ahh Chips.

Under the acquisition agreement, Dennis and Gail Barker will continue their as key members of Live Better Sprouting Innovation.
