Tesco will continue to use the fridges that it has rented over the busy holiday period to stock up on products for the rest of the year. The plans to do so are currently finalized.
One major supplier of containers already confirmed for the publication that Tesco, but also some other supermarkets have made requests for several hundred containers for at least this year.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Tesco had joined other businesses in stockpiling goods in case the UK departs the European Union without a deal that covers trade.
Brexit concerns are putting a toll on the aviation industry as well, which has also started stocking up on goods such as entrees, snacks, and even plastic cutlery.
Gate Gourmet, a food supplier for airports in the UK, has made provisions of frozen pizza, ice cream and roast duck that could last up to 10 days. The items are stored in a Peterborough warehouse prior to being sent on board aircrafts.
