This week, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) published online its draft amendments to the Sale of Food Act (Chapter 283) Food Regulations. The draft legislation contains several regulatory changes to the use of food additives. AVA notified the WTO of the proposed amendments on April 17, 2013. If implemented, these amendments would take effect on August 1, 2013.

The International Food Additive Database will be updated to include these amendments once they are established and in effect. Further information on Singapore’s food additive regulations can be found on AVA’s legislation page.
