The cooperative vegetable growing area has a surface of more than 200 hectares, containing collective vegetable cultivation, processing and marketing. The area is a modern agricultural enterprise. The cooperative uses a method of "cooperation + demonstration + farmers", to drive local farmers to develop the production of 330 hectares of vegetables. Here, far away from industries, mountain water is used for the irrigation of the crops and vegetables can grow in a pollution-free area.
The vegetables produced by Tang Sheng Farmers Cooperative are popular with consumers, because the cooperation invests in agriculture inputs and pesticide residue testing. This way there is a strict safety mechanism.
In Heyuan (Guangdong province) a lot of farmers cooperatives, like Tang Sheng, are dedicated to the production of green and pollution-free vegetable planting bases. In recent years, the Heyuan agricultural sector actively promoted industrial adjustment through planning guidance, policy support, demonstration, brand building and other measures. Because of this the reputation of the town's vegetable industry has improved.
Currently the city has 51 vegetable production bases, a total of 20,700 hectares (310,000 mu). Last year, the city had a vegetable growing area of 380,000 hectares (5,720,000 mu). Total vegetable output amounted to 657,200 tons.
