For the third consecutive year, the Chilean fruit export industry attended one of the most important fairs in Europe, Fruit Attraction, which was held between Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 October in Madrid, Spain.

Chile's participation in this fair was organised by the Fruit Exporters Association of Chile AG. (Asoex) and had the support of the Fund for the Promotion of Agricultural and Forestry Exports of the Ministry of Agriculture, which is administered by ProChile.

During the opening ceremony of Chile's hall at Fruit Attraction, the organisers praised the work carried out by Asoex for the development of the fruit sector on their 80th anniversary and then offered a small commemorative cocktail celebration attended by representatives of the Chilean export sector, importers and distributors, as well as European media representatives.

The Ambassador of Chile in Spain, Francisco Marambio; the director of the Commercial Office of ProChile in Spain, Lorena Sepúlveda and the Marketing Director of Asoex for Europe and Asia, Charif Christian Carvajal, chaired the inauguration together with a group of about fifteen fruit exporters from Chile, who took part in the event seeking new market opportunities for their products.

According to Carvajal, the main objective of their participation in Fruit Attraction, besides the search for opportunities to identify new business contacts, has been to develop a better relationship with distributors, buyers and retailers who are familiar with the Chilean industry, thus promoting the consolidation and growth of the sector.
