On July 19, 2013, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced in the Federal Register the filing of two petitions to amend the U.S.’s food additive regulations. Both petitions are related to prohibiting the use of certain food additives in infant formula.

The United States is not currently included in the International Food Additive Database.
