Fruit, vegetable and mushroom producers in Romania will soon have access to a new online marketplace, where they will be able to carry out trade operations and consult prices in real time, reports the general manager of the Interprofessional Organization for Fruits and Vegetables of Romania, Aurel Tanase.

With the launch, growers hope they will gain bargaining power and have a greater say in their relationship with supermarkets, taking into account that the platform will be guaranteed to offer constantly updated information on product stocks. The site will be available for producers, retailers, and individuals interested in buying Romanian fresh produce.

The website www.prodcom.ro is currently in the testing period and is expected to be officially launched at the end of this month, in the framework of INDAGRA 2015, the largest fair for agricultural products in Romania, which will be held at Romexpo between 28 October and 1 November.
