The mushroom market got through the summer well. "We can't complain," says trader Arno van den Oord of mushroom wholesaler Champoord from Ammerzoden. "There are no surpluses and there is a reasonable demand for white mushrooms at the moment. This results in prices around 1.60-1.80 Euro. I hope these prices can hold up. The sales of the oyster mushrooms continues to run reasonable."

"The main sales markets are the United Kingdom and the domestic market. The current exchange rates are to our advantage in the export to the United Kingdom. Of course we're trying to enter new markets, but it's not easy," continues Arno. "The quality of the mushrooms is reasonable to good. Over the next few weeks the availability of the mushrooms will increase slightly."
