Tesco Target 'New Year's Resolutionists' With Healthy Eating Range

Health-conscious custTesco Healthy Livingomers hoping to start a new eating regime in the post-Christmas period will be have the choice of a new "Tesco Healthy Living" own brand range.

The new brand replaces the previously existing "Tesco Light Choices" and "Tesco Eat Live Enjoy" own brand ranges and will comprise of 230 products including bakery, ready meals and yoghurts.

According to a statement released by Tesco today, the new range will offer two options: “Big on Taste, Lower in Calories”, which offers products with 30% fewer calories than comparable products and is aimed at people trying to lose weight, and “Beautifully Balanced”, aimed at people wanting to make healthier choices.

The supermarket claims that 83% of the products that come under the new private label rollout are “new or improved”.

David Wood, Tesco UK Marketing Director said: “Helping our customers and colleagues to lead healthier lifestyles is very important to us. This range represents a shift in the way we think about healthy foods – we want to give our customers great tasting products that make choosing healthier options easy.

“To do this we’ve drawn on new food trends and the expertise of our colleagues and suppliers who are passionate about food, to ensure our Healthy Living range provides choices that taste better, look better and are even more healthy.”
