Publix Super Markets, Inc. announced a $25,000 donation to Food For All®, a program of making change and a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization, as part of the company's Sprinkle Joy Holiday Campaign. The donation will assist five nonprofit organizations in Publix's geographic footprint:

Action Ministries – Atlanta, Ga.
KidsPACK – Lakeland, Fla.
Flipany – Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina – Charlotte, N.C.
Second Harvest Food Bank – Jacksonville, Fla.

Sprinkle Joy, which debuted on Publix's Facebook page and Twitter account on Dec. 9, invited fans to make virtual holiday cookies, share fun, bring people together and Sprinkle Joy this holiday season. With each cookie that was decorated, the cookie jar continued to fill and the best surprise of all was Publix and their customers unlocking a gift to charity.

“The holidays are a time to celebrate with family and friends and to create those special moments that sprinkle the most joy in our lives,” said Maria Brous, Publix director of media and community relations. “This holiday season we wanted the joy and service our customers experience in our stores to be extended to our online social platforms and communities we serve. Inviting our customers to give back and make a difference to those in most need this holiday season has been the most rewarding experience. We have the best raving fans in the business!”

The Sprinkle Joy theme continued throughout the company's store locations with the Publix Bakery producing cookie-decorating kits complete with icing and candy for cookie decorating fun and the 1,080 store managers randomly sprinkled joy to 25 lucky customers awarding each with a $5 Publix gift card. Publix Aprons also provided three cookie recipes that may be found at www.publix.com/CookieRecipes.

Publix also gave their Facebook fans a sneak peak of their holiday TV commercial, “Christmas Visitor” on Dec. 3. The commercial began airing on TV on Dec. 5.
