The French food industry is the sector that has most contributed to the turnaround in the trade deficit of France.

Last year, French exports of food rose by 3.3 per cent reaching €11.5 billion.

French Agriculture Minister Stéphan Le Foll said that these are very encouraging results of the strategy of export development in all emerging markets, including Asia and Latin America – a strategy of "economic diplomacy" conducted in close collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Trade.

He said that the results, which have shown a steady improvement over the last 18 months, demonstrate the quality of products "Made in France" and the vitality of the food chains that can consolidate and create jobs in the areas where they operate, contributing to the economic recovery France.
