China:Weekly Review of Food Standards and Regulations(1233-1237)

 

　　On January 29th, 2018, China Food and Drug Administration printed and distributed legislation plan of 2018, including 36 legislative projects. “Implementation rules for food safety law of the People's Republic of China” would be revised, and 12 regulations corresponding to food would be formulated or revised based on food safety law.

 

　　China Food and Drug Administration issued an announcement about standardizing labels regarding function claims of health food

 

　　On February 13th, 2018, China Food and Drug Administration issued an announcement about standardizing labels regarding function claims of health food. The words “Evaluation of this product by animal experiment” should be indicated on labels of health food in front of function claims for those without evaluation of population consumption. Before the end of 2020, labels and instructions of health food should be revised based on this requirement.

 

　　Announcement of China Food and Drug Administration about application of continued registration of health food

 

　　On February 13th, Announcement of China Food and Drug Administration about application of continued registration of health food. The registered certificate would be canceled by expiration of period of validity if continued registration was not applied. From July 1st, 2017 to February 13th, 2018, for the circumstance that continued registration was not accepted because expiration of the certificate was less than 6 months based on “Measures for administration of registration and filing of health food”， the responsible person may apply for continued registration before March 31st, 2018.

 

　　Ministry of Agriculture notified to WTO on standard for maximum residue limit of pesticides in food

 

　　On February 19th, 2018, Ministry of Agriculture notified to WTO on exposure draft of standard for maximum residue limit of pesticides in food involving 105 pesticides such as abamectin. Opinions should be submitted before April 20th, 2018.

 

　　On February 12th, 2018, Ministry of Agriculture issued Announcement No. 2653 about standard for maximum residue limit of altrenogest and corresponding test method.
