Armenia has exported so far 70,200 metric tons of fresh fruits and vegetables, by 28,000 tons or 68% more than in the same time span of 2014, according to deputy minister of agriculture, Robert Makaryan.

This figure is expected to increase further, since Armenian exports of agricultural products traditionally increase significantly in the last month of year.

He said the bulk of exports- 84% (58,900 tons)- went to Russia, about 11,000 tons were sold to Georgia; other countries were the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Kuwait, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Iran.

Overall, Armenia exported 11,000 tons of grapes (against 6,200 in 2014), 21,300 tons of apricots (against 1,790 tons in 2014), 3,045 tons of plums (against 706 tons in 2014), and 2,200 tons of cherries (against 377 tons in 2014).

Exports of apples grew to 1,270 tons from 29 tons in 2014, export of cabbage jumped to 10,200 tons from 2,000 tons in 2014, export of radish grew to 2,900 tons from 860 tons in 2014 year, export of tomatoes increased to 1,280 tons, which is 6 times more than in 2014 and that of cucumbers grew to 3,700 tons from 220 tons in 2014.

According to the National Statistical Service, agricultural production in the first 8 months of 2015 amounted to 522.4 billion drams, having increased by 13.9% from the year before. ($ 1- 481.79 drams).
