Moldovan firm exporting apples to Qatar and Bangladesh

The supply contract was signed at the World Food Moskow in Russia, where the company participated as part of a delegation from the Association of Producers and Exporters of Moldova Fruct.
The buyer, a large trading company from Qatar, requested a mixed batch of apples, with 60% red and 40% green varieties (including the Florina, Fuji, Idared, Golden and Granny Smith). During the tasting at the stand of Moldova Fruct, representatives of the Qatar trader came to the conclusion that even the Moldovan apples of sweet and sour varieties stood out when compared to the products from other European countries in terms of taste and aroma.
In October 2018, the management of SC Domulterra SRL and the group of fruit growers, Moldova Fruct, plan to go on a business trip to Qatar. The goal is to assess the condition of the Moldovan products delivered in containers by sea before they are sold in this country's markets.
Earlier, with the mediation of a Moldovan trading company founded by an Indian citizen, SC Domulterra SRL had already made the first shipment (100 tons) of Gala apples of the 2018 harvest to Bangladesh. The export of apples to this country started last season, when the volume exported reached 200 tons.
Alena Mandatiy hopes for continued cooperation with Asian partners, since "they are ready to buy apples at a price approximately 20% higher than Russian traders."
