German export has been very good so far this season: 149.000 t exported to the Netherlands (18.000 t last year) and 30.000 t to Belgium (6.000 t last year), and this is just for the month of August.

As fields are empied and warehouses are filled, buyers will have to pay a few extra euros to get the precious tubers out. In the fresh market, warehouse potatoes cost 3 to 4 euros more than those which come directly from the fields.
