This tropical tuber is cultivated on a commercial scale in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Krala and eastern Bengal in India. Farmers use Farmfirst to publicize their production and market it. "We connect producers with customers through our application," stated Binu, a manager at Farmfirst.

This tuber that can weigh 1.5 to 6 kg, depending on where it is cultivated, and it is consumed as a vegetable once cooked. "It's stem and leaves are also consumed, especially in vegetarian dishes. But this is only done by the farmers themselves," Binu said.

The demand for this product is stable, as it has a shelf life of about 3 months. "There are no big price fluctuations, as it is a product that can be stored; however, climatic conditions can influence its price," stated Farmfirst. Its average price ranges from 20 to 40 rupees, and it is currently being sold at 35 in the international market. "The last two months have been particularly good in terms of prices," said Binu.
