All Chinese ports will charge low sulfur surcharge (LSS) from January 1st, 2019

Major shipping companies have made their own announcements. Qingdao, Tianjin, and Shenzhen ports will all follow the example of Shanghai and Ningbo, without exception.
The International Maritime Organization drafted a "limit sulfur order" and its deadline is swiftly approaching. Large shipping companies gradually began to take measures in response to this order. The cost price of low sulfur oil is higher than regular oil. Shipping companies decided to share the increased cost with cargo owners. It is predicted that the surcharge will come to around 20 USD per shipping container.
