General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 210 of 2018 (Announcement on Special Safeguards for Beef Imported from Australia in 2018)

According to the Free Trade Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of Australia (hereinafter referred to as the Agreement), China has implemented special safeguards for eight tax-numbered agricultural products originating in Australia. By December 27, 2018, the number of beef import declarations (tax code: 02011,000, 02012,000, 02013,000, 02021,000, 02022,000, 02023,000) managed by special safeguard measures had reached 172,840 tons, exceeding the trigger standard of 170,000 tons of special safeguard measures in 2018. Therefore, since December 28, 2018, import tariffs on beef imported under the Agreement and originated in Australia have been restored at MFN rates. For the application of the tariff rate of agricultural products in transit, the enterprise shall, in accordance with the provisions of the General Administration of Customs Announcement No. 66 of 2015, submit an application of the tariff rate of the agreement to the Customs directly under the place of import before declaring the import and submit relevant documents.

Notice hereby.
