US-based Baensch Food Products is voluntarily recalling a single lot code of Ma Baensch Marinated Herring in Wine Sauce over an undeclared milk allergen.

The voluntary recall was initiated after the company discovered that as a result of a labeling error, 144 - 24 ounce jars (12 - 12 count cases) of Ma Baensch Marinated Herring with Sour Cream & Chives were labeled as Ma Baensch Marinated Herring in Wine Sauce.

The product was distributed to selected retail stores in Wisconsin and Rockford.

The product subjected to recall bears UPC code 71444910220 and a sell by date and lot code best if used by 06nov12 158.

Products with the stated lot code and sell by date must be returned to the store. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
