Asda hBeastie Bitesas issued a product recall on its 'Beastie Bites' product, due to the presence of undeclared allergens - celery and mustard - in the corn-based snack product.

The product recall, which has been issued on all date codes of the 6 x 25g pack, is the second product in Asda's 'Chosen By You' range to be recalled by the retailer over the last fortnight.

The company has withdrawn the product from sale and notices have been displayed in stores. In addition, Asda will contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their at-risk members about the withdrawal.

Asda issued a precautionary recall on its 'Chosen By You' curried chicken snack product on Tuesday 16 July, due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in the product by the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA).
