Sannong Zhongguo reported that leaf vegetables entered the market in large volumes between the end of October and now. Potatoes gradually turn from "low price vegetables" into relatively "high price vegetables", since supply is slow and demand is growing weaker.

Analysts say that potato supply is sufficient in the short term, and the price is still quite stable. When the temperature drops further, and the supply volume of open-field vegetables shrinks, then the supply volume of greenhouse vegetables will grow, and the average price of vegetables will increase. At that point the price of potatoes will be relatively low and the sales volume may grow. Production areas in north China are currently releasing potatoes from storage (cellars).

The fall of leaf vegetable prices naturally impacted the sales volume of potatoes. In addition, the quality of potatoes in some cellars has suffered. Furthermore, the product quality of potatoes in refrigerated storage in Shandong is quite mediocre and supply is slow.

The short term supply of potatoes is sufficient, and the price of leaf vegetables remains low for now. It is therefore unlikely that the sales volume of potatoes will suddenly grow. This will change when the temperature drops and greenhouse vegetables become more common. The mid term supply of potatoes from storage is smaller and the price could then increase.
