Unlike tomatoes, whose price in Poland has continued to decline in recent weeks, cucumber prices show a positive trend, according to analysts from EastFruit.

Market operators point out that the demand for cucumbers has grown a little in recent times, which is allowing traders to slightly increase their prices. Cucumbers in Poland are currently sold for $ 1.16-1.32 / kg, while 2 weeks ago, they were offered in the wholesale market for $ 1.05-1.22 / kg,

The current situation is due to various reasons. One of them is the seasonal factor, as the supply on the market has been noticeably reduced. At the same time, the volume arriving via imports cannot fully meet the demand. Consequently, the increase in prices applies to both imported products and to the last batches from local greenhouse producers.

If we compare the current prices with those recorded at this same time last year, then we get an increase of almost 7%. As for the immediate prospects for the development of the cucumber market in Poland, due to the seasonal factor, the positive price dynamics have every chance to continue in the future. These assumptions can be confirmed by a similar development of the market situation in 2017, when a clear positive price trend was observed from the last week of October.
