During his tour of Asia, Mauricio Macri, the President of Argentina, signed new agreements with his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Phu Trong, to export food and increase trade and investment between both countries.

The delegations confirmed the approval for the reciprocal exchange of four products, which in the case of our country will be citrus fruits: lemons (whose purchase was already accepted), oranges, grapefruits, and mandarins, which still need to be approved by the corresponding agencies.

During the hearing, Macri told Nguyen "Argentine producers were interested in exporting pork, embryos, semen, livestock, fish oil, frozen beef, cherries, blueberries, tomato seeds, flour soybeans, and milk powder."

"Vietnam needs more and more food and we want to help producers," he told him while inviting him to Argentina, where he could visit the Expoagro mega-show, which will be held from March 12 to 15 in San Nicolas.

Macri made special emphasis on the agricultural sector during his dialogue with the president of Vietnam, taking into account that this country is Argentina's fifth largest trading partner and the country's second most important market in Asia.

"We would like you to see the advances in machinery, agricultural technology and biotechnology for the animal and vegetable fields," Macri said, adding that "the joint work between our governments and the private sector is key to promoting exports and boosting the growth of direct foreign investment in strategic sectors, especially in the agricultural business area."

The president of Vietnam said that Argentina was a very important partner for them in America and asked national officials to study the possibility of approving the entry of household appliances, ceramics and sea products, as other commercial options.
