Export of Red Globe grapes from Xinjiang to Southeast Asian markets is stable

The retail season begins in the last week of November and continues into February of the subsequent year. Looking back on the recently finished export season, we can say that the price of our Red Globe grapes exported to Southeast Asia is stable at the same level as last year." This is according to Li Rui, General Sales Manager at Xinxing County Jihua Yili Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd.
"The major export advantages of Xinjiang Red Globe grapes, compared to Red Globe grapes from other production areas in China, include the following: first, the weather is excellent. The Yilu river banks enjoy a temperate continental climate with large differences between temperatures during the day and at night. These conditions are extremely well-suited to and beneficial for the product quality and production volume of Red Globe grapes. Second, the grape varieties are superior. There are several hundred Red Globe grape varieties in Xinjiang. Third, the product quality is superior. Red Globe grapes are strong and easily endure transport, which reduces the risk of loss because of damaged fruit. Their sugar content is also quite high. Furthermore, the solubility of the Red Globe grapes in Xinjiang is relatively high. The solubility is around 25%, which is about 6% higher than the solubility of Red Globe grapes in the rest of China."
"We own around 333 hectares of Red Globe vineyards in Yilu, Xinjiang. Our technological system was designed by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. We have already developed 103 new product varieties, including 3 varieties that have now been named. Around 60%-70% of our Red Globe grape production volume is destined for export via Shenzhen port. Export destinations include Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. We mainly export to Southeast Asian markets."
"In addition, we exported 1000 tons of Red Globe grapes from Xinjiang to the Russian market last year. We received excellent feedback and praise as soon as the grapes entered the market there. While we steadily continue to develop our current export markets, we also hope to enter new retail areas, such as Europe and the USA. We are searching for a new retail method that benefits the long-term development of the grape industry. We hope this new retail method will include stable domestic Red Globe grape prices as well as stable export prices, without the unbridled pursuit of profit that can ruin an industry."
