Chosen Foods is expanding its cooking oil line up and introducing the product at Natural Products Expo West in March.

All in all, the fast growing health food company will introduce nine new products at the event. The first exclusive cooking oil offering is simply titled Chosen Blend. Chosen Blend is a healthy combination of organic high oleic safflower oil, avocado oil and coconut oil and carries a smoke point of 490F.

This unique combination features a high amount of heart healthy monounsaturated fat - the same fats found in olive oil - as well as beneficial lauric acid found in coconut oil. The fatty acid profile and smoke point combine to create an oil that is resistant to toxic breakdown and free radical production. Today's health savvy shopper is looking for easy-to-use and affordable alternatives to the toxic, chemically processed, GMO-laden, polyunsaturated seed-oils of the last 50 years; Chosen Foods is passionate about creating those alternatives!

Scientific studies have recently highlighted the dangers of cooking with high polyunsaturated seed oils. These unstable fatty acids are reactive and sensitive to oxidation from heat, light or air. High polyunsaturated oils dominate the packaged food and restaurant industries, which means most Americans are consuming it in dangerous amounts. Fortunately, people are starting to question the health of these cooking oils and actively seeking alternatives like olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and other more traditional quality fats. While healthy oil alternatives do exist, many have limitations. Olive oil has a low smoke point, coconut oil is solid at room temperature and virgin cooking oils have very strong flavor profiles. Chosen Blend is the prefect all-purpose combination - high smoke point, high monounsaturated fat, mild flavor and versatility. A truly unique healthy cooking oil alternative.
