ChromaDex noted that Pterostilbene, an antioxidant found in blueberries and other berries, is believed to have a number of health benefits. It has superior biological activity, better oral bioavailability and metabolizes more slowly in the body compared to other antioxidant polyphenols.
ChromaDex founder and CEO Frank Jaksch said the company is looking forward to the national expansion of pTeroPure and its adoption in several consumer products.
"With our recently announced pTeroPure clinical safety results and the forthcoming human efficacy data, Glanbia should be well positioned to bring our exciting novel patented and proven ingredient to the food & beverage, dietary supplement, and animal health markets," Jaksch added.
